Sharmila Naidoo is a Senior Associate in the Shipping & Logistics department. Sharmila is currently studying towards an International Business Law Masters, majoring in International Shipping Law, through the University of London. Sharmila deals with various admiralty matters which includes maritime claims, cargo claims, arrests. She has experience with matters relating to maritime casualties and collisions on the Southern African coast. She has attended on board various vessels, on behalf of shipowners and their P&I Clubs, to take statements, procure and preserve evidence in matters involving crew, including cases of personal injury and death onboard ships. Sharmila also has experience with transport-related matters, general advisory work and litigation relating to contractual disputes, logistics, and insurance law in general. Sharmila is the Secretary and executive committee member of the Maritime Law Association of South Africa. She is also an executive committee member of the Durban Chapter of the Maritime Law Association of South Africa.
