The Senior Associate / Junior partner will lead the full conveyancing process. The role involves handling complex property matters, ensuring compliance and maintaining high service delivery. The position will combine technical property law knowledge, team mentorship and client- facing responsibilities.
- Drafting of commercial bonds (mortgage and notarial) for such institutions as Absa, Standard Bank, Nedbank, Investec, African Bank etc
- Handle all aspects of the conveyancing process, including document preparation, client communication and liaising with relevant parties.
- Handling bonds, property transfers and related legal procedures with precision and efficiency.
- Experience in notarial deeds, subdivisions, consolidations and opening of sectional title registers.
- Facilitating and finalizing cancellations.
- Ensure compliance with property laws and regulations.
- Supervise and mentor conveyancing paralegals and candidate attorney/s.
- Act as a key point of contact for complex property transactions.
- Assist in maintaining client relationships and contributing to the department’s growth strategies.
- Ensure FICA compliance and adhere to the Firm’s compliance policies.
- LLB Qualification, Admitted Attorney and Conveyancer.
- Minimum 5- 10 Years’ experience working in a conveyancing environment.
- Advance knowledge of property law and conveyancing procedures.
- Ability to draft and review legal documents.
- Computer Literate (MS Office Suite).
- Ability to work independently and to use initiative.
- Meticulous and ability to pay attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage high volumes of transactions simultaneously.
- Preference will be given to a person with their own practice, and willing to grow the pie;
- Must be technologically savvy, and be able to work and utilise various conveyancing software programs like stordoc, lexis nexus etc;
- Great inter-personal and management skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of numeracy and literacy skills.
- Knowledge of FICA.
