Specialisations and Interests

Hope is an employment and pension law specialist. His experience includes chairing disciplinary & incapacity hearings, assisting clients with grievance hearings and investigations. His experience extends to reviewing and drafting employment contracts and policies on behalf of clients, ensuring compliance with the relevant legislations.

Hope also represents clients at the Labour Court, Labour Appeal Court, CCMA and various Bargaining Council on matters relating to strikes, organisational rights, unfair labour practice, unfair dismissals, unfair discrimination, incompatibility and retrenchments. He also appears in the Magistrate’s Court.

Hope further provides specialized legal advice to clients dealing with, among others, The Occupational Health and Safety Act, The Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, The Protection of Personal Information Act, The Promotion of Access to Information Act, The Employment Equity Act, The Pension Funds Act, the interpretation of different Collective Agreements in the Labour industry and the interpretation of different fund rules.

Hope also assists in pension law related matters in the High Court, Pension Funds Adjudicator and Financial Services Tribunal.
